  • Ian Garrett - Director, Producer, Writer, Camera

    Ian Garrett is a designer, producer, educator, and researcher in the field of sustainability in arts and culture. He is the director of the Centre for Sustainable Practice in the Arts and Associate Professor of Ecological Design for Performance at York University, where he is Graduate Program Director for Theatre and Performance Studies. He is also producer for Toasterlab, a mixed reality performance collective. He maintains a design practice focused on ecology, accessible technologies, and scenography. Notable projects with Toasterlab include the VR components for The Right Way at the Venice Biennale, Orestes with Tarragon Theatre, production for the Captain Me interactive series for children, and place-based XR experiences and immersive shows, including From Weeds We Grow, Transmission, Virtual Parkway Forest Park, and Groundworks. Notable projects related to EcoScenography include the set and energy systems for Zata Omm's Vox:Lumen at the Harbourfront Centre and Crimson Collective’s Ascension, a solar 150’ wide crane at Coachella in 2010. He is a graduate of Rice University and CalArts.

  • Justine Garrett - Writer, Producer

    Justine Garrett is a writer, producer, and director working in film, TV, and XR. Most recently, she directed and produced the Captain Me interactive series for children. Justine has helped produce award-winning documentaries including No Greater Love (National Emmy Award, Cindy Award) and A Science of Miracles: The History of Organ Transplantation (Nominee, National Emmy Award). With Toasterlab, she produces place-based XR experiences and immersive shows, including From Weeds We Grow, Transmission, and Virtual Parkway Forest Park. She’s a graduate of UCLA, CalArts, and The Second City Conservatory in Toronto.

  • Tiśina Ta-till-ium Parker - Co-Producer, Writer, Camera

    Tiśina Ta-till-ium Parker/Native One is a California Indigenous [cis] woman, Indigenous Art Activist, filmmaker, designer, cultural artist. Tiśina is the Granddaughter of Ralph and Julia Parker, daughter of Louis and Patricia Parker. Her people are Yosemite Southern Sierra Miwuk/Kucadikadi Mono Lake Paiute from her Grandfather’s lineage and Kashia Pomo from her Grandmother’s lineage. She descends from a powerful matriarchy of notable California basketmakers including her Grandfather’s Grandmother, Lucy Telles and her Grandmother Julia Parker. Tiśina’s life work is dedicated to Indigenous cultural regeneration through the art of storytelling in film, regalia making, textiles, and community cultural arts activism. Her film projects include Chishkale - The Blessing of The Acorn and Fire As Medicine (currently in development).

  • Tia Taurere Clearsky - Editor

    Tia Taurere Clearsky of Whaea Productions is Indigenous from the Ngā Puhi/Te Aupoūri Nations of Aotearoa - New Zealand, born in the Kulin Nation of Melbourne, Australia. Tia is an Editor, DOP and a camera operator for numerous productions nationally and internationally including broadcast TV programming, news stories, short and feature films. Tia has contributed to films that have premiered at ImagineNative Media Arts & Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival and Maoriland Film Festival. She has been nominated twice for a Leo Award in the category of Best Editor for an APTN children’s series. She collaborates with Spotted Fawn Productions on the Spirit Bear short animation films, CBC’s Indspire Awards 2021 and EPK for CBC’s Bones of Crows a Marie Clements mini series. A highlight in Tia’s career was being a camera woman and editor for Maori Television news at the Toronto International Film Festival for the Premiere of JoJo Rabbit, a Taika Waititi film.

  • Don Schroeder - Consulting Producer

    Don Schroeder has been a writer, producer, and director for more than forty years and his films have won dozens of awards around the world including a national Emmy for writing and directing the PBS documentary, “No Greater Love,” about the miracle of organ donation. He was co-founder and Executive Producer of Mentor Media where he produced and directed award-winning documentaries and educational films. In all, he has more than three hundred films to his credit. Don holds a PhD in Communication from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California, an MFA in Cinema Production from USC’s School of Cinema-Television, and an MS degree in TV/Radio from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. Don has taught Broadcasting and Cinema at USC, Loyola Marymount University and at Chaffey College. Don lives in North Hollywood, California, with his wife, Elisabeth, who is a retired elementary school teacher.
